📋 Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1
    Sam — Foundation Posture
Stand upright with calm, grounded energy. Keep shoulders relaxed, spine elongated, and body balanced evenly on both feet. Do not appear stiff — the posture should feel alive, soft, and composed.
💡 TipLucknow Gharana does not expect mannequin stillness. There is subtle body life and soft breathing energy in this pause. Relaxed readiness, not rigidity.
  2. 2
    Hand Ascent
Raise both hands slowly toward the chest with smooth flowing movement. Keep elbows softly rounded and wrists relaxed throughout the transition. Avoid lifting shoulders or moving arms in straight robotic lines.
💡 TipKathak hands move in arcs, never straight lines. Think circular energy — your wrists trace gentle curves upward. The moment shoulders lift, the Lucknow grace is lost.
  3. 3
    Hand Joining
Bring palms together gently near the center of the chest. Maintain relaxed shoulders, soft elbows, and balanced posture. Pause briefly with calm stillness and respectful energy.
💡 TipThis pause is not empty time — it carries emotional respect. The guru holds stillness here to create dignity. Your AI rewards this controlled pause.
  4. 4
    Gentle Bow
Incline the upper torso forward slowly and gracefully. Keep the spine long while lowering the head naturally without collapsing the chest. The bow should feel controlled, soft, and emotionally respectful.
💡 TipThis bow is emotionally soft — not dramatic, not deep. A 20–30° torso inclination is exactly right for Lucknow Gharana. Collapsing the chest or rushing the bow breaks the quality entirely.
  5. 5
    Hand Release
Separate and lower the hands gradually with continuous flowing motion. Keep wrists soft and elbows relaxed during the descent. Avoid dropping the hands abruptly or breaking movement continuity.
💡 TipThe release is as expressive as the joining. Wrists remain alive and soft throughout. An abrupt drop erases all the grace built in the preceding phases.
  6. 6
    Return to Sam
Rise back to upright posture slowly with balanced body control. Realign the spine gently and stabilize the body without wobbling. Finish in calm stillness with relaxed shoulders and composed presence.
💡 TipHow you end is how you will be remembered. A composed, still finish with a soft gaze forward is the hallmark of the Lucknow Gharana Namaskaram. Do not break character early.
