Indian classical dance — Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and folk traditions like Garba — represents thousands of years of living artistic heritage. Yet access to qualified teaching is uneven: many learners live far from a good guru, cannot afford regular classes, or simply lack a way to check whether their solo practice is correct.

Our mission is to make high-quality dance practice accessible and accountable for everyone. We do this not by replacing the guru, but by giving students a rigorous, patient practice mirror they can use between classes — one that watches carefully, never tires, and offers honest, specific feedback.

When you start a practice session, AIArtLens activates your webcam and uses Google's MediaPipe technology to map hundreds of keypoints across your body, hands, and face — in real time, entirely inside your browser. No video is ever uploaded or stored; the pose processing happens locally on your own device.

From those keypoints, our scoring engines evaluate several things at once: the accuracy of your posture and stance against the ideal for that movement, the timing of your footwork against the rhythmic cycle (taal), the symmetry of your arms, the shape of your hand gestures, and — for spins — whether you complete a full rotation. A live skeleton overlay shows you exactly what the system sees.

At the end of a session, your numeric scores are passed to an AI language model, which writes warm, specific coaching feedback in the encouraging style of a classical teacher — telling you what improved, what to focus on next, and how to fix the most common errors.

We built AIArtLens to respect your privacy. The camera feed never leaves your device — MediaPipe runs as WebAssembly in your browser, so your video is processed locally and discarded. Only anonymous numeric score summaries are sent to generate your feedback, and we do not store them afterwards. You can read the full details in our privacy policy.

We believe in being transparent about what AI can and cannot do. Pose estimation is powerful but approximate — camera angle, lighting, and clothing all affect accuracy, and our scores are indicative guides rather than certified assessments. AI feedback is generated automatically and is not reviewed by a human before you see it.
